Malaga
Malaga
Malaga! The star and the capital of the Costa del Sol! For many years overlooked by visitors who would fly into it´s International Airport and then flock westwards to the beaches of the Costa del Sol.
But in recent years the city has come to be seen in the spotlight which it deserves. It is a truly vibrant and exciting Spanish city, with tons of wonderful history and an abundance of exciting artistic and cultural endeavours. Although smaller than Andalusia´s true capital, Sevilla, Malaga nevertheless parallels much of it´s best attractions. It´s huge harbour has been updated and is now a wonderful attraction for visitors.
The city is home to one of the most beautiful Andalusian cathedrals, fondly named la Manquita due to the fact that it was never completed. And above the sandy beaches of this Malaga coast on 2 hills sit the fascinating ruins of Malaga´s moorish past, with the remnants of Gigralfaro and the Alcazaba Fortress which during the Islamic period was initially built as a fortification, and later became a palace-fortress, and the seat of the city government.
Today Malaga is proving to be a city of great interest to those looking to buy a home in the Costa del Sol.
